Peace in Nature
This nomadic life has been incredible so far. I am feeling a consistent peace that I haven’t experienced before. I attribute much of this feeling to my proximity to nature. When I am alone in a forest, there are very few factors to contribute to anxiety or restlessness. I'm still working on completing the mental shift to realize that my home is always with me wherever I go, but when I do, it is always calming.
This theory was reinforced when I recently spent a few days in New York City. I noticed almost immediately that I felt a little off balance. The energy of Manhattan, while invigorating also invited feelings of unease. Once I escaped again back to nature, my feelings of balance were quickly restored.
My desire to surround myself with nature was rewarded by a very close encounter with a fawn in the forest. At first we startled each other, and although I doubt the fawn felt the same way, I felt very lucky to get that close to a wild animal just hours after leaving the dense, concrete city.
